Frequently Asked Questions
What makes this program different?
Our program is unique in several ways:
- Focused one-on-one attention: we provide individual coaching sessions in addition to the group workshops, so people can personalize the learnings and be held accountable.
- The program is purposely laid out in a building block manner, so that each session's skill building and development builds upon the prior ones, and culminates in a one-year individualized leadership action planning session.
- We have built in an evergreen aspect: ongoing 1:1 reinforcement through expert coaching, along with peer support.
- Our program is grounded in practical business reality: we both have extensive experience in corporate America , both as successful leaders, and also as consultants and coaches to companies.
- We possess a strong background of MBA education from top universities, professional coach training, and real-world business experience. We take a pragmatic approach to getting real results.
- We specialize in women's leadership, and have been featured expert speakers at top business schools, women's associations, and leading companies.
Our company doesn't usually spend this much on individuals.
- For 9 half day trainings and 9 individual executive coaching sessions, the program cost is extremely cost-effective. If priced out separately, the value would be well in excess of $12,000 (See website for value breakdown.)
- The program has been very motivating for participants, and the investment is a tiny percentage of the cost to hire a new worker.
- If your employee implements just one successful new idea or strategy, the value to your business could be well in excess of the minimal investment.
- Harvard Business Review showed that companies who invest in their employees consistently outperform companies who do not.
- For the cost of just 2 days at an executive education program or typical workshop where there is no individualized attention, we provide 36 hours of classroom instruction plus 9 individual coaching sessions and additional resources and learning materials—an outstanding value.
Compared to other leadership development programs, the investment is too low.
- We want to make this affordable for all achievement-oriented women.
- We feel it is critical to help companies recruit and retain top talent and for women to have the tools and skills to succeed and contribute at a higher level while managing the demands of work and life commitments.
You are a new, unproven organization.
- We have offered Professional Women's Dream Team programs for 4 years, with top companies like SAP, Clorox, Gap, Williams-Sonoma, PG&E, Kaiser Permanente and others sponsoring their women.
- We have been providing consulting, coaching and training services to top companies throughout the United States for the past several years.
- The program is run by two MBA-educated (Yale, Wharton and University of Michigan ) women executive coaches with over 40 years of blue chip corporate experience— line management, consulting and HR.
- See website for our credentials.
- We are happy to provide references of women who have taken the program.
We don't have time to take our people away from the job.
- The only way to rapidly enhance the skills and productiveness of your people is by providing highly targeted, results-oriented learning opportunities, along with ongoing coaching accountability and support.
- We schedule the program once a month from 8am - 12 noon , so participants will still be able to return to the job and accomplish their work.
- Successful leaders regularly make time for their continued development—carving out a half day a month, plus an hour for coaching each month, is a small time commitment with a big payoff.
- We teach women how to delegate and prioritize—crucial leadership skills.
- Our program provides continuity and regular focus, yet still fit into the schedules of busy professionals.
How do you measure the ROI or payoff of the program?
- Companies handle this differently—and measuring payoff of development programs and coaching is a hot topic right now.
- Typically companies lay out a set of objectives or skills to be developed, do a pre-program and post-program ranking, and track progress.
- If your employee implements just one successful new idea or strategy, the value to your business could be well in excess of the minimal investment.
What is required from the participant's manager?
- Each organization is different, and we customize it to your needs. At some companies, managers prefer to be very involved in helping the employee set their goals and want to check in with us regularly. We cannot reveal specific details of the confidential coaching sessions, but we can share our observations about the employee's level of participation and commitment.
- For companies who prefer to have the employee own the process, that is perfectly acceptable as well.
- The common denominator is participants who take personal responsibility for their development and fully commit to the process.
What are the sponsorship criteria? Who should we send?
- We recommend you send women you consider to be high potential, per your internal rating system.
- The women who get the most out of the program are women who truly want to learn and increase their success—they should possess a high level of personal accountability.
- We look for women with management responsibility, 8 or more years of business experience OR a graduate degree plus business experience.
